Beyond Bob - Bob Ross Workshop

This course is not for "Advanced" painters. It's a beginners course that takes you beyond the basic Bob Ross classes and adds in more in-depth skills in painting. You will feel better about your painting abilities after each weekly session. Mondays from 6-9 p.m. Jan. 6 to Feb. 10 Instructor: Brian Sutton Medium: Oils Brian is taking the Basic Bob Ross workshop to a whole new level of awesomeness by digging deeper into the Bob Ross method and coupling it with more traditional painting methods! 6- weeks of sessions, three hours each, to bridge the gap between Bob and traditional painting. The goal of this course is to vastly improve your painting skills by showing you easier, more effective ways to achieve the amazing effects Bob Ross achieved and applying concepts in value, color theory, color mixing, highlights, shadows and many other art subjects to move you beyond what you think you can do! We will complete several Bob Ross paintings of your choosing during the course from one of Bob's books. Note: You DO NOT have to have attended the Bob Ross Basics course to attend this workshop. Beginners are welcome and encouraged! Required Supply list: This is a Bob Ross course, so we ask that you bring Bob Ross paints and brushes to the classroom. You may supplement your brushes with your favorites, but please have the listed Bob Ross brushes and paints at the course. You will be responsible for supplying your own canvases. Canvases and hardboards will be available for purchase. We will be requiring a few extra items that you will receive from your instructor as part of your tuition for the course. You'll need the equivalent of the contents of the Bob Ross Master Kit, meaning that you can either have the kit or the individual components of the kit (minus the instructions and DVD that some kits come with). Purchasing the kit will save you about $80 over purchasing the items individually, so we recommend starting with it. If you already have some supplies, purchasing a kit is a great way to bolster your supplies while still saving money over retail since most of us purchase multiple brushes and knives and we always buy more paint!
