We love to take our doggos to the beach so they can swim in the Chesapeake Bay off our little island called Kent Island. We are surrounded by beach as islanders and we go often to paint and let the pups swim.
This scene was painted on an early morning in July 2024 at Terrapin Park on the northwest side of the island. It's one of our favorite painting spots. This sign struck me as an unnecessary blockage of the scenery (grrr...), but I loved the color contrast against the greens. Also, the blue pole made it a nice red, white and blue subject! The delightful, strong shadow really caught my eye. It served as a helpful guide to point the way to the beach!
