I was hanging out with friends and I had to sketch the moment. I liked how it turned out so I needed to paint it. It's not plein air yet, but it is a real lived moment. One step closer. Done in oils on a 16x20 canvas board
Hi Lisa! I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to truly look at this when you posted it! Ahhh, we were in Easton, Md. for a painting competition, but we are back today so I'm digging in!I really do appreciate the subject matter, which is a departure into a new, fantastic direction for you! Yay!Taking on the drawing of figures is a daunting task, so I'm happy that you were up to the challenge and knocked them out.If I can just be honest, like I always am, I actually like the foreground rocks most of all! I think you may know that I always agonize over the angles and values in rocks, so I love the way you allow them to catch the light and being executed well without them overpowering the rest of the composition.Good job! Yay!
Thanks for sharing, Lisa! Love it!
