Bob Ross painted beautiful paintings in 27 minutes on his show "The Joy Of Painting." He dazzled us with how great his paintings were and how fast he could paint them. But we aren't Bob Ross, are we? Hi, everyone, this is Brian from Art Party Unlimited. I've been a Certified Bob Ross instructor for a long time and I've seen many a painting leave my studio in a mess. They end up in the trash, in the burn pile, or shoved under the bed in some guest room in the back of the house. No matter how much fun we have at our Bob Ross classes, sometimes when you get a painting home you see something you'd like to fix or maybe you see something that you could do a little bit better. Today I'm going to give you a few tips to keep those paintings out of those places and up on your wall where they deserve to be. You can improve your Bob Ross class paintings with much less effort than you think. Well, with a little more effort than that. Let's get to it. The first thing you should do is to let your painting dry completely. Oil paints are not water soluble like acrylics and so they take a lot more time to cure. Making changes to your painting will go a lot easier for you if you stick with the same colors you were using in class, so all the Bob Ross line of colors are available on our website and in the description below this video to help you get started at home. I see it all the time in class. People think that because Bob could jam on some paint in a hurry in class and have amazing results that they can, too. How did that work out for you? Instead, choose an appropriate size and style of brush to do the job you need to do - and be gentle. It was difficult in 27 minutes for Bob to put in rich highlights and deep shadows into his paintings to because he just didn't have time. But you have plenty of time. Highlights and shadows makes a big difference. DaVinci took more than three years to paint the Mona Lisa, so take your time. Getting back at these paintings after you leave class has a side benefit -- all your friends and relatives will no longer have to lie to you and tell you your class painting looks wonderful. [oh, honey, that painting looks amazing] Gee, thanks. I really appreciate it.
