If you have attended any workshop with me, you'll know that I am a huge fan of artist John MacDonald. I have three of his video lessons that I refer to often as I am developing the curriculum for the many artist workshops that we offer each year. He is a go-to source of nerdy painting knowledge and he speaks at the detail that I want so that I can translate and incorporate his knowledge into my own classes. He is a true master.

This is a great article. I especially like how John Macdonald's simple advice about leaving the edges of the distant trees soft but with a few sharp edges creates dimension in your painting. It really works.
